CITRUS OFFERS VALENTINE’S DAY MENU AND SPECIALTY COCKTAILS

SAN ANTONIO – January 26, 2016 — Citrus Restaurant, located in Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, 150 E. Houston Street, is offering a special three-course Valentine’s Day menu for dinner on Sunday, Feb. 14. The restaurant will host two seatings: at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. for $70 per person or $100 per person with wine pairing.

The evening begins with an Amuse Bouche of Citrus Basil Crab Salad. For the first course, diners may select Live Watercress and Fennel Salad with Sweet Poached Gulf Shrimp, Grapefruit Segments and Black Fig Reduction, or Mushroom Lentil Veloute with Roasted Garlic Croutons, Fresh Micro Greens and Charred Shallot Reduction.

Second course offerings include one of four options:

  • Seared Scallops accompanied by Brussels Sprouts with Lardons, Vanilla-Scented Celery Puree and Myer Lemon Buerre Fondue
  • Mascarpone & Sundried Tomato Ravioli

Butter Poached Lobster, Aged Romano Cheese and Fresh English Peas

Cognac Saffron Cream

  • Porcini Rubbed Filet

Roasted Baby Beets, Manchego Pomme Puree, Carrot Duck Butter

Crab Bordelaise Sauce

  • Swiss Chard and Kale Pasta (Vegetarian)

Charred Pearl Onion Petals

Barley Mushroom Broth

For the third course, diners may select one of the following:

  • Strawberry and Pistachio Mousse Cake

Pistachio Jacondé, Strawberry Mousse, Pistachio Bavarian Cream

Red Berry Gelée, Pistachio Crumb

  • Chocolate Cheesecake Trio

White Chocolate Cheesecake, Dark Chocolate Cheesecake, Raspberry Cheesecake

Blueberry Mousse, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Blackberry Sauce

In addition, Citrus and VBar are offering two specialty cocktails concocted especially for the Day of Romance. Cupid’s Kiss features strawberry vodka, Aperol, St. Germaine and blood orange juice, topped with Prosecco and served in a champagne flute. Tender Love is a concoction of

rye whiskey and sweet vermouth, garnished with muddled sweet fabri cherries and orange bitters frozen into a cube.
